Meet the Founder
My name is Prachetas Yeri
Prachetas Yeri is passionate about bringing emergency preparedness among students. He is the founder of EmerReady, a non-profit organization that educates underprivileged students about various forms of health emergencies and prepares them to act in an informed way. EmerReady identifies government schools in India and typically works with local NGOs connected with the school. Prachetas and his team talk about various time-sensitive and sudden situations like bruises, fall injuries, fractures, animal bites, etc. Using audio-visual stories, the team engages students to teach them timely interventions. Sessions typically end with a discussion on First-Aid kit, components, and their usage.

Prachetas has been an innovator by using computer vision to enhance the quality of patient care. He co-created a Python-based program that identifies the emotional states of patients during an online video consultation session. Medical caregivers can benefit from layered diagnostic information (blood pressure, pulse, SPO2 levels, etc.). He plans to use Bhashini, an online translator engine used for many Indian languages to convert speech-to-text-to-speech and bring customized health care to remote parts of India.
Background: Born in Charlotte, North Carolina Prachetas’ family relocated to Bangalore at the age of 10. Although his quest to blend various cultures started early on, Prachetas has an appreciation of his Indian roots and American upbringing through first-hand experience. Added to it, he has a keen eye to look for cultural nuances by extensively traveling across the world. He has been to over 30 states in the US and traveled across 15 states in India and 3 countries in Europe. His passion is to hike in the wild and connect with nature in its purest forms!
