Training Teachers for a Safer Tomorrow: EmerReady’s March 21, 2024 session
On March 21, 2024 EmerReady's founder Prachetas Yeri, conducted a comprehensive training session for teachers. This initiative, held at Thimmarayaswamy school, Anekal, aimed to equip educators with the necessary skills and knowledge to handle emergencies effectively in a school environment.
The training session attracted various subject teachers from the school, highlighting the growing awareness and importance of emergency preparedness in educational institutions. The session began with a warm welcome, and a presentation in the local dialect, Kannada on the critical role teachers play in ensuring the safety of students during emergencies.
The training covered a broad range of topics essential for emergency preparedness. Participants were introduced to the basics of emergency planning, and learnt the nuances of assistance based on varying situations.
The feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many teachers expressed their gratitude for the comprehensive nature of the training and the valuable insights they gained. The teachers were extremely impressed with the initiative and pledged their support to the organization. The physical education teacher expressed his gratitude to Prachetas my saying, "It is so great to see that someone at the young age of 16 is thinking about the wellbeing of the society".
EmerReady plans to conduct follow-up sessions to ensure continuous learning and improvement in emergency preparedness among educators. The organization also aims to expand its training programs to include other school staff and administrators, fostering a culture of safety and preparedness across educational institutions.
