750 Students, Two Life-Saving Lessons: Thanking APR Charitable Trust

When a child knows how to stop a bleed, clear an airway, or respond in the first sixty seconds of an emergency, the ripple effect reaches far beyond that one classroom. This July, thanks to the generous sponsorship of APR Charitable Trust and Children of India Foundation, that ripple reached 750 students across two schools in Bengaluru.

What the sponsorship made possible

With these NGO's support, the EmerReady team delivered hands-on emergency preparedness and first aid training to students at:

• Government Freedom PU College: 650 students (APR Charitable Trust)

• Kengeri Urdu School: 100 students (Children of India Foundation)

Beyond the training itself, the sponsorship equipped:

• 3 schools with industrial-grade first aid kits, ready for real emergencies on campus

• Every participating student with their own personal first aid kit to take home

These aren't just supplies sitting in a cupboard. They're tools students now know how to use, because they've practiced with them.

Why this matters

First aid literacy is one of those rare interventions that's simple to teach, low-cost to scale, and genuinely life-saving. A student who can recognize an emergency and act with confidence in those first critical moments can make the difference between a minor incident and a tragedy, for a classmate, a family member, or a stranger on the street.

Initiatives like this one reflect exactly the kind of community care we hope to build across more schools in India: practical, hands-on, and built to last well beyond the day of training.
