**Emergency Preparedness: Quick Tips for Cuts, Burns, Stroke, and Fainting**
Here’s a quick guide to help you stay calm and act quickly.
**Cuts:** For small cuts, clean the wound with water and apply an antiseptic. Cover it with a sterile bandage. For deep cuts, apply pressure to stop the bleeding, keep the wound elevated, and seek medical help immediately.
**Burns:** For minor burns, cool the burn under running cold water for at least 10 minutes. Avoid using ice. Apply an antibiotic ointment and cover it with a non-stick bandage. For severe burns, don’t use water—cover the area with a clean cloth and get medical help.
**Stroke:** Signs include sudden numbness, confusion, trouble seeing, or difficulty speaking. If you suspect a stroke, act FAST: Face (check for drooping), Arms (ask to raise both), Speech (slurred or strange), Time (call emergency services immediately).
**Fainting:** If someone faints, lay them down flat and elevate their legs. Make sure they’re in a safe position. They should recover quickly. If they don’t wake up within a few minutes or if there are other symptoms, seek medical help.
Stay prepared and stay safe!
